Shopster is offering a free trial, but that is, of course, only
if you cancel your membership before the 7 days is up. When you
sign up, they have everything you need to set up a store, and their
software builds the store for you.
It took me a little while to figure it out, so I read the Shopster
101. The video was the best help though, so watch it first before
you do anything else, and then follow the steps. In other words,
watch one video and then go and do what it showed you before you
go to the next step.
It's kind of cool the way you can just enter the categories, then
the sub-categories, then just click on the products and add them
to your store. The system is also set up so that you can choose
your mark-up. You can either choose one of their pre set markups,
or make your own.
I also checked some prices, and they were in the ballpark, with
a 12% markup, to what I could get on Froogle. So I think you could
sell stuff and make some money. You would really need to do some
market research though and find the right products for your niche.
Which you would need to do with any store, so no surprise there.
I think that Shopster charges a fair price for what you get. You
get a store and 700,000 products that you can mix and match to make
your store unique. You get hosting and what looks like a good template
website system. You also get them to take care of the credit cards,
shipping, handling etc... and just send you checks. So, all you
have to do is pick the right products and do a good of job marketing
to make a decent living.
